Tuesday Climbing Club Night

The Tuesday climbing club was set up to enable Scout Network and Leaders to learn to climb and help them gain their authorisation if they wish. If you are a Scout, see the Young Climbers Club. The club meets every Tuesday during the Summer at Green Park Climbing Complex. It should be noted that this is an opportunity for personal climbing - NOT GROUP USE - Equipment is available for novices and those who do not have their own. The cost of an evening at Green Park is £5.00 and instructors will be available to give you advice if needed.

The club also organises six or seven weekends away each year to venues including the Peak District, the Lake District, North and South Wales and Dartmoor. The programme of weekends normally includes one or two 'Crag Courses' where you receive instruction on placing protection, setting up anchors etc, as well as fitting in some climbing. Once a year, the club runs a 'Lead Climbing Course' in the Peak District. This course is designed to get you leading confidently outdoors, having covered placing protection, setting up anchors, route finding etc.

The other weekends are 'Club Weekends' which are an opportunity to just climb, although there are instructors around in case you get into difficulty. There are people with a wide range of experience on these weekends, so whatever experience you have, there will be someone you can climb with.
